Coming Soon!

Good morning to everyone that reads this blog! Jim has been working on a new item. The item is called what-not boxes. They are designed in heart, circle, and oval shape at this time. They are small, hinged lid, wooden boxes designed to hold small items such as jewelry. As soon as they are complete, we will have a picture and price listing on the website. I hope everyone had an awesome Halloween. For those folks living in Florida, Halloween was also game day for the Gators and Bulldogs! I hope you enjoyed the game. Blessings until next time. CJ

Awesome People!

Yep, I know this blog should be about something with fabric, etc. Not! I want to tell the world about the two most awesome diverse female soldiers I have met. My two new to me gals are my adopted soldiers through www.soldiersangels.com These two ladies are awesome because both of them have chosen the army as a career, they are doing jobs they love to do and the fact they are keeping us safe makes them awesome in my book. The army is the reason I am alive today, so yes I will always be grateful. I can not say their location and / or jobs, but just knowing that are young women out there doing the work they are doing is wow, etc to me. I grew up in an age and time when women were just beginning to break into traditional male dominated jobs. These two young are not confined to the medical field, but are working in fields they chose and from what I have been told enjoy and love. I guess in a way this could be a fabric running through because women in my time pushed so the women of today could choose and excel in these fields. You ladies rock!

Life's Circle

Hi evreyone!
I truly hope your little corner of this not so big world is just the way you want it. If not, then I truly hope and pray you taking steps to change what you can and to know when you can not.
Jim and I vended last weekend at Pioneer Day's Festival in Mayo, Fl. The recession is not over, alot of people looking, but not buying.....thinking. We still had an awesome time! Mayo is still small town USA, with a community that really cares about their people.
We are getting ready for oue next event which will be in Cross Creek, FL. We will be at Fall Festival held on the grounds of M.K. Rawlings (author). This event is being held to help the volunteer fire dept. in that area.
A big hug to Mike Rehberg for stopping by to see me and meet Jim. Mike and I went to high school together.....has it really been that long? All for now ...Blessings!

Crazy World

Hi everyone! Yes, yes I know it has been awhile. Alot has happened in our family since my last post. As of now, hopefully things are back on track. I have been busy creating "handbag necklaces" for Halloween or just anytime someone wants something different. A picture will be added soon to the website of these unusal little useable necklaces. The idea was created by my guy and my youngest son clowning around in a local store. You never know where creative ideas are coming from. Fall has arrived, if only in calendar date, not in temperature here in Florida. Happy Fall and catch you later! Blessings

Rough Week !!!

This has been a rough week for me. I know it is pale in comparsion to what some folks are going through. Our little special kitten Maggie was almost a month old. Her eyes were open, she could follow and recognize our voice, was starting to walk a steady line and trying sit up in big kitty fashion. Maggie is now our kitty angel. She passed away on Wednesday.
Last night I bought fabric! Yippeeeeee......Wally World actually had some new items in. The store in Lake City is slowly doing away with fabrics. After that is gone, there will only be two quilt shops for fabric. I can always find used, but clean clothing to repurpose. Walmart thinks people do not sew anymore and electronics bring in more cash flow. So sad!
Have an awesome weekend! Thank you for reading. Blessings CJ

Sunday Mornings!

I just love the peace and quiet of a Sunday morning. What about you? The morning gives a person time to think, plan, and reflect on what is really important these days. Family, friends, love, trust, values, all things from the heart. Think I will go make a list. Blessings

For the LOVE of Fabric!

Fabric, no matter what it is made of holds us and the parts of life we hold close together. Although it seems with alot of fabric shops going bye, bye due to the economy our life's would do the same. However this is not true. For the most part I have seen families grow even closer! Everyone should know how to sew on a button and turn under a hem.
Fabric is my main passion. I am an artist by God's gift. Fabric can change a mood, take your breathe away, and be mixed with so many different mediums. I love to draw and design my own patterns. Having been a public school teacher for many moons (retired now) my knowledge and skill at free handing items for the classroom was ever so helpful. Please remember your child's teacher when school starts. This economy has caused many cutbacks and teachers will dig into their own pockets to help their students even when their family might go without. Just a thought! Blessings! Until next time CJ
